The Orchestra is a speaker whose purpose is to elevate Atomica Floor speaker to

the highest level. The project is mainly focused in passing from a 2 way to a 3

way speakers. We wanted to keep the original spacing of the two mid-woofers,

therefore also crossover point with the tweeter section. Crossover point is critical

when designing a D’Appolito based system.

The bass section is made from two 26 cm units. Like the mid-woofer, they are

custom hand-made by AudioTechnology. Their large magnet system gives extreme transient response and sensitivity. The crossover point between woofers and

mid-woofers is the minimum frequency which allows the mid-woofers to work in a zero-excursion modality.

Mid- woofers are loaded in a closed volume, which is separated from woofers’

radiation. This creates a perfect synergy with the crossover, and increases

transient response and dynamics. This way the allowable input power through the whole band is drammatically increased. For this the Orchestra is equipped with 2

parallel tweeters, allowing an exceptionally low intermodulation distorsion even at

the higher frequencies: domes excursion is 0,05 mm at maximum input power.

Moreover the use of a double tweeter hepls containing domes’ dimensions,

increasing polar dispersoion and instrument-voices palpability.

This is a hi-performance floorstanding speaker. Side panels are made of glass. Glass is good not only to the eye, but it gives musical and accurate sound to the speaker. We use materials characterized by very different mass and flexibility; this technique produces boxes with excellent elastic and inertial properties. Side glasses are

available fully transparent, dark or opaque.

The adjustable Atomica Reflex allows the listener to achieve excellent results in his

listening room. The system can work booth like a reflex and closed box passing

through middle positions, allowing great adaptability.

This speaker’s weight is 200 Kg. Total height 188 cm. Nevertheless this monster

speaker can be driven by almost all amplifiers. Infact, thanks to cabinet rigidity and speakers’ configuration, efficiency is 93 dB/1W and sensitivity 96 dB/2.8V.

These speakers are manufactured to exacting specifications, taking them to an

amazing level of sonics. Increased definition, authority and high end information

allow instruments and vocals to strike right in the heart, providing an audiophile

experience reserved for but a few. Even the most demanding listeners will be
